Hello, I'm Tamara Celebrating Love & Life with humour, heart & humanity - bringing compassion and joy to weddings and warmth and dignity to farewells across South East London, Kent, Essex & East Anglia

There's something rather wonderful about being paid to be nosey.

And let's face it, that's exactly what being a celebrant is
– the perfect excuse to dive headfirst into people's stories, their loves, their losses, and everything gloriously messy in between.

I'm Tamara, and I've been creating ceremonies that actually sound like the people they're for since 2019. Based in South East London (Lewisham, to be precise), I work across Greenwich, Dulwich, Beckenham, Deptford, Essex, and up into the lovely wilds of East Anglia. If you've got something worth celebrating or someone worth remembering, I'm your woman.

Why Choose a Celebrant? (And Why Choose Me?)

Because cookie-cutter ceremonies are about as appealing as stale wedding cake. You deserve words that actually mean something, rituals that feel right for you, and someone who'll remember your names (harder than you'd think, apparently).

I bring warmth, a dash of theatre (former theatre director here – I promise not to go full Shakespeare unless requested), and an almost pathological need to get your story exactly right. My couples tell me they feel like we're friends by the end of the process. My funeral families say I helped them find their person in the grief. Both make me grateful and rather pleased with my career choice.

A Bit About Me (The Nosey Part)

I've had what you might call a "colourful" journey to celebrancy. Theatre practitioner in the 80s (yes, I'm over 60 – experience counts, darling!), theatre director who lost her shirt starting a company (worth it), mother to a daughter with serious medical needs (hello, Great Ormond Street, my old friend), and proud owner of a 1979 VW campervan called "The Desperate Lady" (there's a story there).

Three friends simultaneously suggested I become a celebrant in 2018. Turns out they were onto something. My first funeral? A local friend and almost everyone I seem to have got drunk with at parties since the 90’s in attendance, (completely terrifying) on a sweltering June afternoon, and yes, we got everyone dancing and joining hands around the coffin. I was hooked.
